Wordless Wednesday/Miércoles Mudo: Cuban Dissident Blogger Yoani Sánchez

On a three month world wide tour, dissident Cuban blogger Yoani Sánchez who writes Generación Y spoke at the libertarian think tank the Cato Institute in Washington, DC. For this Wordless Wednesday or Miércoles Mudo post, I show photographs snapped during her speech before I asked her about standing up to Raúl and Fidel Castro through technology–one blog entry, one tweet, and one text message at a time.

    I got to see her and Orlando at Georgetown yesterday. Que heroes! It made me value the power of my voice and how I use it online. They are in a unique situation, behind a curtain of repression that forces them to value and count the impact of every word that reaches the world digitally.
