Agree with Maria and your points. He needed this to gain more support from Latinos. Still, no matter what his reason, I’ll take it.

It was like the day the earth stood still with what happened. Everyone was shocked and pretty much like Evelyn said… “about damn time”. I wonder if he was holding on this card to make it a big deal the way it was done?

Plato once said that a democracy had to have educated people in it. Otherwise, the ignorant will always obey tyrants. If you don’t know what the law is, anyone can tell you what to do. Latinos MUST learn about the issues so they can make educated decisions, vote, and influence the outcome of their own fate.

But I agree it is hard to do when your options are limited to two people who do not hold our – or our children’s – best interests at heart. Sigh.

Still, despite the too little, too late perspective that I think many Latinos have, and even though it is not an actual passage of the DREAM ACT, I still say it is a step. And now, if the administration tries to change it, there will be an immense outcry. They are tossing out crumbs, but we will demand our bread!
