Viviana on the O’Reilly Factor: Viewers Have Your Say
After I appeared on The O’Reilly Factor, my inbox flooded with mix of comments: some good points from all sides; false accusations of being a Republican AND others of being a Democrat; name-calling, i.e. “sell-out” sent by someone who created an email account firstname.lastname@example.org to leave this comment (a first for The Wise Latina Club); my hair color got a question (ditto); an offer of first-hand account of the immigration issue explained to me; requests for more information (it’s all here. Keep reading!); and “good job!” or two.
In viewers’ own words:
“A little bit about myself, in 1860 my family fled the pre-civil war tensions in Ohio and moved to the Pueblo of Los Angeles, California and began working on Rancho Dominguez what is present day City of Torrance and Compton, California. I have more extended family members whose last names are DelAmo, Dominguez, Sepulveda and Pico. I am a conservative Republican; I am so conservative that in the early 1970’s when the television commercial cartoon portrayed the character the “Frito Bandito” it was I and my other conservative Anglo friends that went I eyeball to eyeball with Frito Lay Corporate in pulling that ad! Your not stupid, neither am I, the only time that anyone pays attention to Latinos, Hispanics, or whatever politically correct term it is this week is when a politician wants something. I know because I use to work for the INS! Migra!
In 1998, Obama supported gay rights, gay marriage, and quote: “Production Line Abortion!” in 2004, Obama was sure about gay marriage because he never really thought about it but did support civil unions! In 2008, Obama said in Church, answering questions from a Pastor, on television, that both he and his Wife believed that Marriage was between a man and a woman, and believed in the sanctity of life. In 2012, he supported gay marriage. In 2008, he supported and promised Immigration reform. During his Administration, he has caused the deportation of more foreign nationals including their children by the way, than any President in recent history. Now because he’s running for another term, he has put at risk the deportation status of some 1.3 million people who have documented themselves as eligible for deportation. If re-elected, there is absolutely not reason why he couldn’t come back and say that the CBO told him adjusting their status was unsustainable and off to the country of their birth they go! Do you really want to trust the future of this Country with someone like this?” –Robert Danford

“I saw that you were on FOX selling your people out, (no offense, but let’s not pretend right?), and I was just wondering what kind of money was in that. I have a number in my head, I mean, of what a Latin Female would be worth to the Right.
Seriously, I promise to keep your answer totally confidential.
The only reason I can think of why you wouldn’t be worth upwards of $500k is because the Right knows there’s no way to gain Latin vote at this point. Thanks!”–Frank Mackie email@example.com
“I am a Hispanic who finds your desire for amnesty, and a basic open borders policy absolutely revolting. Understand that a country cannot exist without borders, language, and culture. The entire aspect of illegal immigration creates a catastrophe with all three of these requisites, as Mexican illegals , and legals alike, are the most resistant to assimilation as studies have shown .You say that Secure Communitiies are a thorn in the side to the latino community. What about illegals being a thorn in the side to the citizens and legal residents of this country? You would think that would have priority, right? Since when do we , as Americans, have to worry about what an illegal populace, or simpaticos to the illegal aliens, before our own desires and expectations? Your logic is, on it’s premise, twisted.” –Mike Hunt
“Just Smart and Gorgeous!! Saw you on the Factor.”–Will McGuire
“I enjoyed your segment on O’Reilly!!! Bien cocido!!!”–Mark Venable
“Loved you on the Oreilley show and love your hair colo, what color is that?”–Alicia Hernandez
“Cuando me nacionalice Americano, fue porque quise ser Americano.
Si sali de Mexico fue para vivir el sueño Americano, no para seguir siendo Mexicano
Estan mal ustedes en dividir esta nacion y que por “nestro voto Latin” vamps a convertir esta fabulosa nacion en una republica Bananera.
Yo por lo menos de corazon sigo a Los Estados Unidos como MI NACION.
PORFAVOR, no destruyamos esta fabulosa nacion pensando como “LATINOS”
I have been in america for three years. I am from Colombia. My family and I think President Obama speaks with two heads and two mouths. We believe he walks in our shadows to steal our souls. We believe that Latinos need to work so we can send money to our families, Obama is not helping us. We believe that a major point is north america and south america are in the same hemisphere. We are the western hemisphere, we are one america. It will be. We must take pride in our hemisphere. We are one america. Yes the border still needs control, it has to be. Every one must protect there front and back door.”–Thank you–Biviane Arbelaez – Arias
“Born of Puerto Rican parents who came here in the 40′s and worked their butts off to keep us kids housed, dressed and educated I am amazed that hispanics dont see how they are being used by this administration. Jeez cut me a break here! I really want to believe that we (hispanics) cant see through all the BS we are being fed. By the way I am pround of Univision for having the cojones to ask the questions that the mainstream media is not asking the Prez.”–Denise Cortez
“Why did the San Antonio, Texas Alcade Julian Castro have to take lessons to learn Spanish from a Jewish teacher?
Why doesn’t Bill O’Reilly invite Univision numero uno newsperson Mr. Jorge Ramos to appear on his top rated show, more often?
Why is it that Obama has deported more Mexicans back across the Rio Grande than any U.S. President previously?”–Moses P. Saldana, Sr.
“Would like to see and here more”–Gene Vivero
It is my opinion that Hispanics are being used as Political pawns by the US government.
It is important that they have the same choice as I do who to vote for. Barack Obama is not that choice.
www.ditch-obama.org the Hispanics must have a real choice.
I think Hispanics are told who they should vote for and that is so very wrong!
This country is not the reality country that is presented to them as many of them are working as slaves more or less in this country and that also is very wrong. Legal or illegal it don’t make any difference to me as I see them as human beings in need of a free life and to be able to make a decent wage. Even the Legal Hispanic sends money home to Mexico to help their families there.
Barack Obama is leading us down a trail of starvation and oppression, the Hispanic must know that. Hitler did the same thing in the same time frame.
Please read the above link and tell your people to read it so they can vote for the right man.
