The whole language thing is ridiculous…white bilinguals are “elitist” and brown bilinguals are “ghetto”? Smart logic America…lol. I’ve been disappointed this term to see how many overt racists have upped their game to counter our president’s message, but regardless, I think something is to be said for the fact that he was elected. There are some rational and intelligent Americans out there and that gives me hope for the future.

I would LOVE to see a Latina(o) president in the coming years, before my daughter reaches college age I hope! What a great source of inspiration that would be for our family and for our country, which is increasingly bicultural/multicultural.

Whether it be Obama (MY VOTE!) or another candidate, I hope above all that we will be able to keep humanity in the office. This nation needs it.
