very intimately put…. I know that church, though I’m not Catholic. At the end of the day no matter our transgressions, lack of faith, misunderstandings, rancor, etc… God forgives when we come to Him and ask for forgiveness. It’s not easy when “ye is of little faith.” But it’s something that can definitely be accomplished with prayer. Just start with a prayer. He hears everything!

And like Carrie says, Life is GOOD!

This was absolutely beautiful – so touching, honest and poignant. I could relate in so many ways. I was raised Catholic but we do not practice. And we baptised my son only to appease my mother – a true Catholic Holy Roller.

But growing up and still now – I am extremely close to my Madrina. She has been like a second mother to me, nuturing & protective. I knew that if I got in trouble with my mother – I would get it from my Madrina too.

The relationship between godmother and godchild has the potential to be a very special relationship. Religion aside. You have been chosen, to be a part of this child’s life, to be a partner in their upbringing. Start with that. Faith and reconciliation can come later…

WOW I don’t know quite what to say, except I’ve been there several times. I’m still a practicing Catholic, but I try to tune out much of what the Catholic media and the Vatican say I should be doing and instead focus on what I feel God is telling me to do.

That being said, I’m blessed to attend a wonderful little Maronite Catholic parish in Orlando, with an awesome Father.

Whether it’s in the Catholic Church or in another, I hope you’re able to find your spiritual home on Earth.
